Departmental Offices salaries and expenses For necessary expenses of the Departmental Offices including operation and maintenance of the Treasury Building and Annex; hire of passenger motor vehicles; maintenance, repairs, and improvements of, and purchase of commercial insurance policies for, real properties leased or owned overseas, when necessary for the performance of official business; not to exceed $2,900,000 for official travel expenses; not to exceed $150,000 for official reception and representation expenses; not to exceed $258,000 for unforeseen emergencies of a confidential nature, to be allocated and expended under the direction of the Secretary of the Treasury and to be accounted for solely on his certificate; $114,771,000: Provided, That section 113(2) of the Fiscal Year 1997 Department of Commerce, Justice, and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, Public Law 104–208 (110 Stat. 3009–22) is amended by striking “12 months” and inserting in lieu thereof “2 years”: Provided further, That the Office of Foreign Assets Control shall be funded at no less than $4,500,000: Provided further, That chapter 9 of the fiscal year 1997 Supplemental Appropriations Act for Recovery from Natural Disasters, and for Overseas Peacekeeping Efforts, including those in Bosnia, Public Law 105–18 (111 Stat. 19596) is amended by inserting after the “County of Denver” in each instance “the County of Arapahoe”: Provided further, That $200,000 are provided to conduct a comprehensive study of gambling’s effects on bankruptcies in the United States: Provided further, That for necessary expenses of the Office of Enforcement, including, but not limited to, making transfers of funds to Treasury bureaus and offices for programs, projects or initiatives directed as the investigation or prosecution of violent crime, $1,600,000, to remain 111 STAT. 1273available until expended, to be derived from balances available in the Violent Crime Reduction Trust Fund.
