Sec. 512. (a) Prohibiting Reappointment of Members of Federal Election Commission.—Section 306(a)(2)(A) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (2 U.S.C. 437c(a)(2)(A)) is amended by striking “for terms of 6 years” and inserting “for a single term of 6 years”. (b) Applicability.—The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to individuals nominated by the President to be members of the Federal Election Commission after December 31, 1997.
