SEC. 768. SENSE OF CONGRESS REGARDING THE DEPLOYMENT OF SPECIALIZED UNITS FOR DETECTING AND MONITORING CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, AND SIMILAR HAZARDS IN A THEATER OF OPERATIONS. It is the sense of Congress that the Secretary of Defense, in conjunction with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, should take such actions as are necessary to ensure that the units of the Armed Forces deployed in the theater of operations for each contingency operation or combat operation include specialized units with sufficient capability (including personnel with the appropriate training and expertise, and the appropriate equipment) to detect and monitor the presence of chemical, biological, and similar hazards to which members of the Armed Forces could be exposed in that theater during the operation.
