SEC. 516. INVOLUNTARY SEPARATION OF RESERVE OFFICERS IN AN INACTIVE STATUS. (a) Authority for Involuntary Separation of Certain Inactive Status Officers.—Section 12683(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking out “apply—” and inserting in lieu thereof “apply to any of the following:”; and (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(4) A separation of an officer who is in an inactive status in the Standby Reserve and who is not qualified for transfer to the Retired Reserve or is qualified for transfer to the Retired Reserve and does not apply for such a transfer.”. (b) Stylistic Amendments.—Such section is further amended— (1) in paragraphs (1), (2), and (3), by striking out “to a” and inserting in lieu thereof “A”; (2) by striking out the semicolon at the end of paragraph (1) and inserting in lieu thereof a period; and (3) by striking out “; and” at the end of paragraph (2) and inserting in lieu thereof a period.
