SEC. 592. SENSE OF THE SENATE REGARDING STUDY OF MATTERS RELATING TO GENDER EQUITY IN THE ARMED FORCES. (a) Findings.—The Senate makes the following findings: (1) In the all-volunteer force, women play an integral role in the Armed Forces. (2) With increasing numbers of women in the Armed Forces, questions arise concerning inequalities, and perceived inequalities, between the treatment of men and women in the Armed Forces. (b) Sense of the Senate.—It is the sense of the Senate that the Comptroller General should— (1) conduct a study on any inequality, or perception of inequality, in the treatment of men and women in the Armed Forces that arises out of the statutes and regulations governing the Armed Forces; and (2) submit to the Senate a report on the study not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act.
