SEC. 906. EVALUATION OF RESEARCH FUNDING TECHNIQUES. (a) In General.—The Secretary, in consultation with the National Academy of Sciences and representatives of airports, shall evaluate the applicability of the techniques used to fund and administer research under the National Highway Cooperative Research Program and the National Transit Research Program to the research needs of airports. (b) Report.—The Secretary shall transmit to Congress a report on the results of the evaluation conducted under this section.
