SEC. 728. AUTOMATED SURFACE OBSERVATION SYSTEM STATIONS. The Administrator shall not terminate human weather observers for Automated Surface Observation System stations until— (1) the Administrator determines that the system provides consistent reporting of changing meteorological conditions and notifies Congress in writing of that determination; and (2) 60 days have passed since the report was transmitted to Congress.
