SEC. 522. SULFIDE CORROSION STUDY. (a) Study.—The Administrator shall conduct a study of the corrosive effects of sulfides in collection and treatment systems, the extent to which the uniform imposition of categorical pretreatment standards will exacerbate such effects, and the range of available options to deal with such effects. 101 STAT. 89 (b) Consultation.—The study required by this section shall be conducted in consultation with the Los Angeles City and County sanitation agencies. (c) Report.—Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Administrator shall submit a report on the results of the study, together with recommendations for measures to reduce the corrosion of treatment works, to the Committee on Public Works and Transportation of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate. (d) Authorization of Appropriations.—There is authorized to be appropriated $1,000,000 to carry out this section for fiscal years beginning after September 30, 1986.
