SEC. 105. SMALL PROJECTS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT. (a) In General.—The Secretary shall conduct a study for each of the following projects and, if the Secretary determines that a project is appropriate, may carry out the project under section 1135(a) of the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 (33 U.S.C. 2309a(a): (1) Illinois river in the vicinity of havana, illinois.—Project for improvement of the quality of the environment, Illinois River in the vicinity of Havana, Illinois. (2) Knitting mill creek, virginia.—Project for improvement of the quality of the environment, Knitting Mill Creek, Virginia.113 STAT. 284 (b) Pine flat dam, kings river, california.—Under authority of section 1135(a) of the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 (33 U.S.C. 2309a(a)), the Secretary shall carry out a project to construct a turbine bypass at Pine Flat Dam, Kings River, California, in accordance with the project modification report and environmental assessment dated September 1996.
