SEC. 625. INCREASE IN MAXIMUM MONTHLY RATE AUTHORIZED FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY PAY. (a) Increase.—Section 316(b) of title 37, United States Code, is amended by striking “$100” and inserting “$300”. (b) Effective Date.—The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on October 1, 1999, and shall apply with respect 113 STAT. 655to foreign language proficiency pay paid under section 316 of such title for months beginning on or after that date.
