SEC. 521. REVISION TO MILITARY TECHNICIAN (DUAL STATUS) LAW. (a) Definition.—Subsection (a)(1) of section 10216 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subparagraph (A), by striking “section 709” and inserting “section 709(b)”; and (2) in subparagraph (C), by inserting “civilian” after “is assigned to a”. (b) Dual Status Requirement.—Subsection (e) of such section is amended— (1) in paragraph (1), by inserting “(dual status)” after “military technician” the second place it appears; and (2) in paragraph (2)— (A) by striking “The Secretary” and inserting “Except as otherwise provided by law, the Secretary”; and (B) by striking “not to exceed six months” and inserting “up to 12 months”.
