SEC. 543. AUTHORITY FOR AIR UNIVERSITY TO CONFER GRADUATE-LEVEL DEGREES. (a) In General.—Subsection (a) of section 9317 of title 10, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: “(a) Authority.—Upon the recommendation of the faculty of the appropriate school of the Air University, the commander of the Air University may confer— “(1) the degree of master of strategic studies upon graduates of the Air War College who fulfill the requirements for that degree; “(2) the degree of master of military operational art and science upon graduates of the Air Command and Staff College who fulfill the requirements for that degree; and “(3) the degree of master of airpower art and science upon graduates of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies who fulfill the requirements for that degree.”. (b) Clerical Amendments.—(1) The heading for that section is amended to read: “§ 9317. Air University: graduate-level degrees”. (2) The item relating to that section in the table of sections at the beginning of chapter 901 of such title is amended to read as follows: “9317. Air University: graduate-level degrees”.113 STAT. 608
