SEC. 634. INCREASED WEIGHT ALLOWANCE FOR TRANSPORTATION OF BAGGAGE AND HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS FOR JUNIOR ENLISTED MEMBERS. (a) Increased Weight Allowances.—The table in section 406(b)(1)(C) of title 37, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking the two footnotes; and (2) by striking the items relating to pay grade E-1 through E-4 and inserting the following new items: “E-4 ........................................................... 7,000 8,000 “E-3 ........................................................... 5,000 8,000 “E-2 ........................................................... 5,000 8,000 “E-1 ........................................................... 5,000 8,000”. (b) Effective Date; Application.—The amendments made by this section shall take effect on January 1, 2003, and apply with respect to an order in connection with a change of temporary or permanent station issued on or after that date.
