SEC. 651. PAYMENT FOR UNUSED LEAVE IN EXCESS OF 60 DAYS ACCRUED BY MEMBERS OF RESERVE COMPONENTS ON ACTIVE DUTY FOR ONE YEAR OR LESS. (a) Eligibility.—Section 501(b)(5) of title 37, United States Code, is amended by— (1) striking “or” at the end of subparagraph (B); (2) striking the period at the end of subparagraph (C) and inserting “; or”; and (3) adding at the end the following new subparagraph: “(D) by a member of a reserve component while serving on active duty, full-time National Guard duty, or active duty 115 STAT. 1153for training for a period of more than 30 days but not in excess of 365 days.”. (b) Application of Amendment.—Subparagraph (D) of section 501(b)(5) of title 37, United States Code, as added by subsection (a)(3), shall apply with respect to periods of active duty beginning on or after October 1, 2001.
