SEC. 653. AUTHORIZATION OF TRANSITIONAL COMPENSATION AND COMMISSARY AND EXCHANGE BENEFITS FOR DEPENDENTS OF COMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE AND THE NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION WHO ARE SEPARATED FOR DEPENDENT ABUSE. (a) Commissioned Officers of the Public Health Service.—Section 221(a) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 213a(a)) is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(17) Section 1059, Transitional compensation and commissary and exchange benefits for dependents of members separated for dependent abuse.”. (b) Commissioned Officers of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.—Section 3(a) of the Act entitled “An Act to revise, codify, and enact into law, title 10 of the United States Code, entitled ‘Armed Forces’, and title 32 of the United States Code, entitled ‘National Guard’”, approved August 10, 1956 (33 U.S.C. 857a(a)), is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(17) Section 1059, Transitional compensation and commissary and exchange benefits for dependents of members separated for dependent abuse.”.
