ESTABLISHMENT.
SECTION 1. ESTABLISHMENT. (a) In General.— In order to preserve the archaeological area known as Poverty Point, Louisiana, and to interpret and conduct further research on such area, its people and their culture, there is hereby established the Poverty Point National Monument (hereafter in this Act referred to as the “monument”). (b) Area Included.— The monument shall consist of the lands and interests in lands within the area generally depicted on the map entitled “Boundary Map, Poverty Point National Monument”, numbered PO–PT 80,000, and dated August 1988. The map shall be on file and available for public inspection in the offices of the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, and at the monument. The Secretary of the Interior (hereinafter in this Act referred to as the “Secretary”) may, from time to time, make minor revisions in the boundary of the monument.
