SEC. 251. REQUIREMENT OF STUDY WITH RESPECT TO MINORITY HEALTH AND ACQUIRED IMMUNE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME. (a) In General.—The Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Director of the Office of Minority Health, shall conduct a study for the purpose of determining— (1) the level of knowledge within minority communities concerning acquired immune deficiency syndrome, the risks of the transmission of the etiologic agent for such syndrome, and the means of reducing such risk; and (2) the effectiveness of Federal, State, and local prevention programs with respect to acquired immune deficiency syndrome in minority communities. (b) Report.—The Secretary shall, not later than 12 months after the date of enactment of this Act, complete the study required in subsection (a) and submit to the Congress a report describing the findings made as a result of the study.
