SEC. 3005. CLARIFICATION OF LENGTH OF SUPERVISED RELEASE TERMS IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE CASES. (a) Drug Abuse Penalties.—Subparagraphs (A), (B), (C), and(D) of section 401(b)(1) of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C.841(b)(1)) are amended by striking “Any sentence” and inserting “Notwithstanding section 3583 of title 18, any sentence”. 116 STAT. 1806 (b) Penalties for Drug Import and Export.—Section 1010(b) of the Controlled Substances Import and Export Act (21 U.S.C. 960(b)) is amended— (1) in paragraphs (1), (2), and (3), by striking “Any sentence” and inserting “Notwithstanding section 3583 of title 18, any sentence”; and (2) in paragraph (4), by inserting “notwithstanding section 3583 of title 18,” before “in addition to such term of imprisonment”.
