SEC. 2501. AMENDMENT TO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT. Section 303(g)(2) of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 823(g)(2)) is amended— (1) in subparagraph (I), by striking “on October 17, 2000,” and all that follows through “such drugs,” and inserting “on the date of approval by the Food and Drug Administration of a drug in schedule III, IV, or V, a State may not preclude a practitioner from dispensing or prescribing such drug, or combination of such drugs,”; and (2) in subparagraph (J)(i), by striking “October 17, 2000,” and inserting “the date referred to in subparagraph (I),”.
