CARIBBEAN SUPPORT TENDER.
SEC. 343. CARIBBEAN SUPPORT TENDER. (a) In General.—The Coast Guard is authorized to operate and maintain a Caribbean Support Tender (or similar type vessel) to provide technical assistance, including law enforcement training, for foreign coast guards, navies, and other maritime services. (b) Medical and Dental Care.—(1) The Commandant may provide medical and dental care to foreign military Caribbean Support Tender personnel and their dependents accompanying them in the United States— (A) on an outpatient basis without cost; and (B) on an inpatient basis if the United States is reimbursed for the costs of providing such care. Payments received as reimbursement for the provision of such care shall be credited to the appropriations against which the charges were made for the provision of such care. (2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1)(B), the Commandant may provide inpatient medical and dental care in the United States without cost to foreign military Caribbean Support Tender personnel and their dependents accompanying them in the United States if comparable care is made available to a comparable number of United States military personnel in that foreign country.
