SEC. 247. ACTIVITIES OF THE DEFENSE EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM TO STIMULATE COMPETITIVE RESEARCH. Subsection (c) of section 257 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 (Public Law 103–337; 10 U.S.C. 2358 note) is amended— (1) in paragraph (1), by striking “research grants” and inserting “grants for research and instrumentation to support such research”; and (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(3) Any other activities that are determined necessary to further the achievement of the objectives of the program.”.
