SEC. 405. EXTENSION OF CERTAIN AUTHORITIES RELATING TO MANAGEMENT OF NUMBERS OF GENERAL AND FLAG OFFICERS IN CERTAIN GRADES. (a) Senior Joint Officer Positions.—Section 604(c) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking “September 30, 2003” and inserting “December 31, 2004”. (b) Distribution of Officers on Active Duty in General and Flag Officer Grades.—Section 525(b)(5XC) of such title is amended by striking “September 30, 2003” and inserting “December 31, 2004”. (c) Authorized Strength for General and Flag Officers on Active Duty.—Section 526(b)(3) of such title is amended by striking “October 1, 2002” and inserting “December 31, 2004”.
