TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS RELATING TO TRANSITIONAL HEALTH CARE FOR MEMBERS SEPARATED FROM ACTIVE DUTY.
SEC. 706. TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS RELATING TO TRANSITIONAL HEALTH CARE FOR MEMBERS SEPARATED FROM ACTIVE DUTY. (a) Continued Applicability to Dependents.—Subsection (a)(1) of section 736 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2002 (Public Law 107–107; 115 Stat. 1172) is amended to read as follows: “(1) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘paragraph (2), a member’ and all that follows through ‘of the member),’ and inserting ‘paragraph (3), a member of the armed forces who is separated from active duty as described in paragraph (2) (and the dependents of the member)’;”. (b) Clarification Regarding the Coast Guard.—Subsection (b)(2) of such section is amended to read as follows: “(2) in subsection (e)— “(A) by striking the first sentence; and “(B) by striking ‘the Coast Guard’ in the second sentence and inserting ‘the members of the Coast Guard and their dependents’.”. (c) Effective Date.—The amendments made by this section shall take effect as of December 28, 2001, and as if included in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2002 as enacted.
