DESTINATIONS AUTHORIZED FOR GOVERNMENT PAID TRANSPORTATION OF ENLISTED PERSONNEL FOR REST AND RECUPERATION ABSENCE UPON EXTENDING DUTY AT DESIGNATED LOCATIONS OVERSEAS.
SEC. 574. DESTINATIONS AUTHORIZED FOR GOVERNMENT PAID TRANSPORTATION OF ENLISTED PERSONNEL FOR REST AND RECUPERATION ABSENCE UPON EXTENDING DUTY AT DESIGNATED LOCATIONS OVERSEAS. (a) Expansion of Benefits.—Subsection (b)(2) of section 705 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting before the period at the end the following: “, or to an alternative destination and return at a cost not to exceed the cost of round-trip transportation from the location of the extended tour of duty to such nearest port”. (b) Change in Terminology.—(1) Subsection (b) of such section is further amended by striking “recuperative” in paragraphs (1) and (2) and inserting “recuperation”. (2)(A) The heading of such section is amended to read as follows: “§705. Rest and recuperation absence: qualified enlisted members extending duty at designated locations overseas”. (B) The item relating to such section in the table of sections at the beginning of chapter 40 of such title is amended to read as follows: “705. Rest and recuperation absence: qualified enlisted members extending duty at designated locations overseas.”.
