SEC. 582. REPORT ON DESIRABILITY AND FEASIBILITY OF CONSOLIDATING SEPARATE COURSES OF BASIC INSTRUCTION FOR JUDGE ADVOCATES. Not later than February 1, 2003, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate and the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives a report on the desirability and feasibility of consolidating the separate Army, Navy, and Air Force courses of basic instruction for judge advocates into a single course to be conducted at a single location. The report shall include— (1) an assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of such a consolidation; (2) a recommendation as to whether such a consolidation is desirable and feasible; and (3) any proposal for legislative action that the Secretary considers appropriate for carrying out such a consolidation.
