AUTHORITY TO PAY FOR CERTAIN TRAVEL OF DEFENSE PERSONNEL OF COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING IN NATO PARTNERSHIP FOR PEACE PROGRAM.
SEC. 1202. AUTHORITY TO PAY FOR CERTAIN TRAVEL OF DEFENSE PERSONNEL OF COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING IN NATO PARTNERSHIP FOR PEACE PROGRAM. (a) Authority for Use of Funds.—Section 1051(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in paragraph (1), by striking “paragraph (2)” and inserting “paragraphs (2) and (3)”; (2) by redesignating paragraph (3) as paragraph (4); and (3) by inserting after paragraph (2) the following new paragraph (3): “(3) In the case of defense personnel of a developing country that is not a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and that is participating in the Partnership for Peace program of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), expenses authorized to be paid under subsection (a) may be paid in connection with travel of personnel to the territory of any of the countries participating in the Partnership for Peace program or the territory of any NATO member country.”. (b) Effective Date.—The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply only with respect to travel performed on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
