SEC. 1051. EXTENSION OF AUTHORITY FOR SECRETARY OF DEFENSE TO SELL AIRCRAFT AND AIRCRAFT PARTS FOR USE IN RESPONDING TO OIL SPILLS. (a) Four-Year Extension.—Section 740 of the Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century (Public Law 106–181; 114 Stat. 173; 10 U.S.C. 2576 note) is amended— (1) in subsection (a)(1), by striking “, during the period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act and ending September 30, 2002,”; and (2) by adding at the end the following new subsection: “(i) Expiration of Authority.—The authority to sell aircraft and aircraft parts under this section expires on September 30, 2006.”. (b) Additional Report.—Subsection (f) of such section is amended by striking “March 31, 2002” and inserting “March 31, 2006”.
