SEC. 661. COMPTROLLER GENERAL REPORT ON ADEQUACY OF SPECIAL PAYS AND ALLOWANCES FOR FREQUENTLY DEPLOYED MEMBERS. Not later than April 1, 2004, the Comptroller General shall submit to Congress a report regarding the adequacy of special pays and allowances for members of the Armed Forces who are frequently deployed away from their permanent duty stations for periods of less than 30 days. The report shall include an assessment of the eligibility requirements for the family separation allowance under section 427 of title 37, United States Code, including those relating to required duration of absences from the permanent duty station.
