SECTION 1. FINDINGS. The Congress finds that— (1) Andrew Wyeth has created artwork which is undeniably American and internationally admired; (2) Andrew Wyeth has received world-wide acclaim for his works including “Christina’s World”, “The Trodden Weed”, and “Wind from the Sea”; (3) Andrew Wyeth has distinguished himself through his preeminence in the egg tempera technique; (4) Andrew Wyeth was chosen by President Kennedy in 1963 as the first artist to receive the Presidential Freedom Award, the country’s highest civilian award; (5) Andrew Wyeth has received numerous international awards for his works; and (6) Andrew Wyeth has made outstanding and invaluable contributions to American art and culture.
