ACQUISITION OF HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS THROUGH EXCHANGE OF OBSOLETE OR SURPLUS PROPERTY.

SEC. 1052. ACQUISITION OF HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS THROUGH EXCHANGE OF OBSOLETE OR SURPLUS PROPERTY.(a) Acquisition Authorized.—The Secretary of a military department may use the authority provided by section 2572 of title 10, United States Code, to acquire an historical artifact that directly benefits the historical collection of the Armed Forces in exchange for any obsolete or surplus property held by that military department, without regard to whether the property is described in subsection (c) of such section.(b) Duration of Authority.—The authority provided by subsection (a) applies during fiscal years 2004 and 2005.
