SEC. 614. IMPROVED PAYMENT FOR CERTAIN MAMMOGRAPHY SERVICES.(a) Exclusion From OPD Fee Schedule.—Section 1833(t)(1)(B)(iv) (42 U.S.C. 1395l(t)(1)(B)(iv)) is amended by inserting before the period at the end the following: “and does not include screening mammography (as defined in section 1861(jj)) and diagnostic mammography”.(b) Conforming Amendment.—Section 1833(a)(2)(E)(i) (42 U.S.C. 1395l(a)(2)(E)(i)) is amended by inserting “and, for services furnished on or after January 1, 2005, diagnostic mammography” after “screening mammography”.(c) Effective Date.—The amendments made by this section shall apply—(1) in the case of screening mammography, to services furnished on or after the date of the enactment of this Act; and(2) in the case of diagnostic mammography, to services furnished on or after January 1, 2005.117 STAT. 2307
