SEC. 1015. FUNDING START-UP ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS FOR MEDICARE REFORM.(a) In General.—There are appropriated to carry out this Act (including the amendments made by this Act), to be transferred from the Federal Hospital Insurance Trust Fund and the Federal Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Fund—(1) not to exceed $1,000,000,000 for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; and(2) not to exceed $500,000,000 for the Social Security Administration.(b) Availability.—Amounts provided under subsection (a) shall remain available until September 30, 2005.(c) Application.—From amounts provided under subsection (a)(2), the Social Security Administration may reimburse the Internal Revenue Service for expenses in carrying out this Act (and the amendments made by this Act).(d) Transfer.—The President may transfer amounts provided under subsection (a) between the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Social Security Administration. Notice of such transfers shall be transmitted within 15 days to the authorizing committees of the House of Representatives and of the Senate.117 STAT. 2447
