SEC. 214. LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF COMMISSIONED OFFICERS. Section 42 of title 14, United States Code, is amended—(1) in subsection (a), by striking “6,200” and inserting “6,700 in each fiscal year 2004, 2005, and 2006”; and118 STAT. 1038(2) in subsection (b), by striking “commander 12.0; lieutenant commander 18.0” and inserting “commander 15.0; lieutenant commander 22.0”.
