GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM III SATELLITE.
SEC. 215. GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM III SATELLITE. Not more than 80 percent of the amount authorized to be appropriated by section 201(4) and available for the purpose of research, development, test, and evaluation on the Global Positioning System III satellite may be obligated or expended for that purpose until the Secretary of Defense—(1) completes an analysis of alternatives for the satellite and ground architectures, satellite technologies, and tactics, techniques, and procedures for the next generation global positioning system (GPS); and118 STAT. 1835(2) submits to the congressional defense committees a report on the results of the analysis, including an assessment of the results of the analysis.
