SEC. 1097. EFFECTIVE DATES.(a) In General.—Except as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, this title and the amendments made by this title shall take effect not later than six months after the date of the enactment of this Act. (b) Specific Effective Dates.—(1)(A) Not later than 60 days after the date of the appointment of the first Director of National Intelligence, the Director of National Intelligence shall first appoint individuals to positions within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.(B) Subparagraph (A) shall not apply with respect to the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. (2) Not later than 180 days after the effective date of this Act, the President shall transmit to Congress the implementation plan required by section 1094.(3) Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence shall prescribe 118 STAT. 3699 regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines required under section 102A of the National Security Act of 1947, as amended by section 1011(a) of this Act.
