SEC. 3202. AMENDMENTS TO FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT. (a) Definition.—Section 502 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1362) is amended by adding at the end the following: “(20) The term ‘medical waste’ means isolation wastes; infectious agents; human blood and blood products; pathological wastes; sharps; body parts; contaminated bedding; surgical wastes and potentially contaminated laboratory wastes; dialysis wastes; and such additional medical items as the Administrator shall prescribe by regulation.”. (b) Prohibition.—Section 301(f) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1311(f)) is amended by striking “or high-level radioactive waste” and inserting “, any high-level radioactive waste, or any medical waste,”.
