restrictions on assistance to governments destabilizing sierra leoneSec. 570. (a) None of the funds appropriated by this Act may be made available for assistance for the government of any country for which the Secretary of State determines there is credible evidence that such government has aided or abetted, within the previous 6 months, in the illicit distribution, transportation, or sale of diamonds mined in Sierra Leone.(b) Whenever the prohibition on assistance required under subsection (a) is exercised, the Secretary of State shall notify the Committees on Appropriations in a timely manner.
