Sec. 1013. (a) Subsection (c) of the first section of Public Law 96–152 (2 U.S.C. 1902) is amended to read as follows: “(c) The annual rate of pay for the Chief of the Capitol Police shall be the amount equal to $1,000 less than the lower of the annual rate of pay in effect for the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives or the annual rate of pay in effect for the Sergeant-at-Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate.”. (b) Section 907(b) of the Emergency Supplemental Act, 2002 (2 U.S.C. 1901 note) is amended to read as follows:“(b) The annual rate of pay for the Assistant Chief of the Capitol Police shall be the amount equal to $1,000 less than the annual rate of pay in effect for the Chief of the Capitol Police.”. (c) Section 108(a)(4) of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2001 (2 U.S.C. 1903(a)(4)) is amended to read as follows:“(4) The annual rate of pay for the Chief Administrative Officer shall be the amount equal to $1,000 less than the annual rate of pay in effect for the Chief of the Capitol Police.”.(d) The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect to the first pay period beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
