Election Reform Reimbursements
Election Reform Reimbursements For necessary expenses to carry out a program under which a one-time payment shall be made to the chief election authority of each State which, on a Statewide basis, obtained optical scan or electronic voting equipment for the administration of elections for Federal office in the State prior to the regularly scheduled general election for Federal office in November 2000, $15,000,000: Provided, That the amount of the payment made with respect to a State under such program shall be equal to the costs incurred by the State in obtaining optical scan or electronic voting equipment used to administer the most recent regularly scheduled general election for Federal office in the State, except that in no case may the amount of the payment exceed $4,000 per voting precinct in the State at the time of the election: Provided further, That total payments made under such program shall not exceed $15,000,000.
