SEC. 3402. EXTENSION OF DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAMS UNDER THE DOMESTIC VOLUNTEER SERVICE ACT. Section 501 of the Domestic Volunteer Service Act (42 U.S.C. 5081) is amended— (1) in subsection (c)— (A) by inserting “(other than section 124(b))” in the first sentence after “of this Act”; and (B) by adding at the end the following: “In addition to the amounts authorized to be appropriated by the preceding sentences, there are authorized to be appropriated for support of drug abuse prevention $4,000,000 in the fiscal year 1989, and $5,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 1990 and 1991. With respect to amounts appropriated for any fiscal year pursuant to the authorization contained in the preceding sentence, the Director— “(1) shall use not less than 15 percent and not more than 25 percent of such amounts for purposes of carrying out section 124(b); and “(2) shall ensure that not more than $500,000 is used for program support.”; and (2) in subjection (d)(1), by inserting “(other than section 124(b))” after “title I” the first place it appears.
