SEC. 1133. REPORTS ON CRITERIA FOR DESIGNATING SPECIAL ACCESS PROGRAMS (a) DOD Report.—Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the defense committees a report on the management of special access programs, including the policy and criteria used for designating a program of the Department of Defense as a special access program. (b) GAO Report.—The Comptroller General of the United States shall study the criteria used by the Secretary of Defense in determining whether to designate a program as a special access program, as set forth in the report under subsection (a), and shall submit to the defense committees a report on the results of that study not later than April 1, 1988. (c) Definition.—In this section, the term “defense committees” has the meaning given that term in section 119(f) of title 10, United States Code (as added by section 1132(a)).
