SEC. 2402. COMPTROLLER GENERAL REPORT ON USE OF ANABOLIC STEROIDS AND HUMAN GROWTH HORMONES. The Comptroller General shall conduct a study on the extent of anabolic steroid and human growth hormone use among high school students, college students and other adults. Such study shall include— (1) the best available estimates for licit and illicit use of anabolic steroids and human growth hormones; (2) the amount and type of legal production of anabolic steroids and human growth hormones, both domestically and internationally; and (3) a full and complete summary of the best available medical analyses that explore the health consequences resulting from anabolic steroid and human growth hormone use. The Food and Drug Administration shall cooperate with the Comptroller General in conducting such study. The Comptroller General shall report to the Congress the results of the study not later than June 1, 1989.
