SENTENCING CLASSIFICATION OF OFFENSES.

SEC. 7041. SENTENCING CLASSIFICATION OF OFFENSES. (a) Redesignation.—Section 3559(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking “classified—” and all that follows through “is—” and inserting “classified if the maximum term of imprisonment authorized is—”; and (2) by redesignating subparagraphs (A) through (I) as paragraphs (1) through (9). (b) Class B Classification.—Section 3559(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended in each of paragraphs (2) and (3) (as so redesignated by subsection (a)), by striking “twenty” and inserting “twenty-five”.
