SEC. 7047. EXTENSION OF POWER TO MAKE CERTAIN EXAMINATIONS TO PSYCHOLOGISTS. (a) Section 4247(b).—Section 4247(b) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking “clinical psychologist” and inserting “psychologist”. (b) Conforming Amendment to Rule 35.—Rule 35 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is amended— (1) in subdivision (a), by striking “physical or mental examination by a physician” and inserting “physical examination by a physician, or mental examination by a physician or psychologist”; (2) in subdivision (b), by inserting “or psychologist” after “physician” each time it appears, and by adding “or psychologist” to the heading of the subdivision; and (3) by adding at the end the following new subdivision: “(c) Definitions.—For the purpose of this rule, a psychologist is a psychologist licensed or certified by a State or the District of Columbia.”.
