SEC. 114. ACQUISITION STRATEGY FOR TACTICAL WHEELED VEHICLE PROGRAMS.(a) Army.—If, in carrying out a program for modernization and recapitalization of the fleet of tactical wheeled vehicles of the Army, the Secretary of the Army determines to award a contract for procurement of a new vehicle class for the next-generation tactical wheeled vehicle, the Secretary shall award and execute the acquisition program under that contract as a joint service program with the Marine Corps. (b) Marine Corps.—If, in carrying out a program for modernization and recapitalization of the fleet of tactical wheeled vehicles of the Marine Corps, the Secretary of the Navy determines to award a contract for procurement of a new vehicle class for the next-generation tactical wheeled vehicle, the Secretary shall award and execute the acquisition program under that contract as a joint service program with the Army. (c) Applicability Only to New Vehicle Class.—Subsections (a) and (b) do not apply to a contract for modifications, upgrades, or product improvements to the existing fleet of tactical wheeled vehicles of the Army or Marine Corps, respectively.
