MAXIMUM PENALTY ADJUSTMENTS.
SEC. 7058. MAXIMUM PENALTY ADJUSTMENTS. (a) Abusive Sexual Contact.—Section 2244(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) in paragraph (1) by striking “five years” and inserting “ten years”; and (2) in paragraph (3) by striking “one year” and inserting “two years”. (b) Murder for Hire.—Section 1958 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking “five years” and inserting “ten years”. (c) Attempted Murder.—Section 1113 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking “shall be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than three years, or both” and inserting “shall, for an attempt to commit murder be imprisoned not more than twenty years or fined under this title, or both, and for an attempt to commit manslaughter be imprisoned not more than three years or fined under this title, or both.” (d) Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations.—Section 1963(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking “shall be fined not more than $25,000 or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both” and inserting “shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years (or for life if the violation is based on a racketeering activity for which the maximum penalty includes life imprisonment), or both.”.
