NATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR FAMILIES OF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS WHO HAVE DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY.

SEC. 6106. NATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR FAMILIES OF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS WHO HAVE DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. (a) Program Authorization.—Part L of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act (42 U.S.C. 3796a) is amended by— (1) redesignating sections 1203 and 1204 as sections 1204 and 1205, respectively; and (2) adding after section 1202 the following new section: 102 STAT. 4342 “national programs for families of public safety officers who have died in the June of duty“Sec. 1203. The Director is authorized and directed to use up to $150,000 of the funds appropriated for this part to establish national programs to assist the families of public safety officers who have died in the line of duty.”. (b) Technical Amendment.—The table of contents for title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 is amended by— (1) redesignating the items for section 1203 and 1204 as sections 1204 and 1205, respectively; and (2) inserting after section 1203 the following: “Sec. 1203. National program for families of public safety officers who have died in the line of duty.”.
