SEC. 6201. SENSE OF CONGRESS THAT PROPOSALS TO LEGALIZE ILLICIT DRUGS SHOULD BE REJECTED. It is the sense of Congress that— (1) proposals to combat sale and use of illicit drugs by legalization should be rejected; and (2) consideration should be given only to proposals to attack directly the supply of, and demand for, illicit drugs, such as proposals to strengthen and expand penalties for sale and use, proposals to encourage greater multinational cooperation in eradication and interdiction, and proposals to promote educational awareness programs for young people.
