Sec. 521. (a) Rescission.—From the unexpended balances of the United States Coast Guard “Acquisition, Construction, and 120 STAT. 1381 Improvements” account specifically identified in the Joint Explanatory Statement (House Report 109–241) accompanying Public Law 109–90 for the Fast Response Cutter, the service life extension program of the current 110-foot Island Class patrol boat fleet, and accelerated design and production of the Fast Response Cutter, $78,693,508 are rescinded.(b) Additional Appropriation.—For necessary expenses of the United States Coast Guard for “Acquisition, Construction, and Improvements”, there is appropriated an additional $78,693,508, to remain available until September 30, 2009, for the service life extension program of the current 110-foot Island Class patrol boat fleet and the acquisition of traditional patrol boats (“parent craft”).
