SEC. 6464. FORFEITURE OF SUBSTITUTE ASSETS FOR MONEY LAUNDERING OFFENSE. Section 982(b) of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking “(o)” both places it appears, and inserting “(p)” in lieu thereof; and (2) by adding at the end the following: “However, the substitution of assets provisions of subsection 413(p) shall not be used to order a defendant to forfeit assets in place of the actual property laundered where such defendant acted merely as an intermediary who handled but did not retain the property in the course of the money laundering offense.”.
